In recognition of World Voice Day, which takes place annually worldwide on April 16, we will discuss this year’s theme: ‘Resonate, Educate, Celebrate!’. Have you experienced difficulty speaking on the telephone and find you need to repeat yourself constantly? Many of us with a voice disorder find the telephone and noisy environments present unique challenges. At this meeting we will explore telecommunication devices and other mechanisms to enhance our ability to be understood.
Our guest speakers include Tyler Kropf, Outreach Regional Director for Sorenson, a global communication solutions provider and Carol Doles, Eastern Regional & Canada Coordinator for Dysphonia International and Co-Leader of the Greater Columbus Dysphonia Support Group.
As always, Michael Johns, MD will be available to address your clinical concerns and there will be ample opportunity for participants to provide support for one another.
I look forward to seeing you.

Please join our Alabama Dysphonia International reinvigorated Support Group on Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 10:00-11:00 AM for a virtual meeting. This is a great opportunity to be a part of our Dysphonia International connected community.
Individuals with all forms of Dysphonia as well as family and friends are welcome. We are offering a time to build community and develop a support network of people dealing with spasmodic dysphonia, tremor, and any other voice disorder that impacts their daily lives.
During our meeting we plan to have a discussion about “Embracing Resilience on the Journey with Voice Disorders”, a recently published article from The Dysphonia International Our Voice Volume 31 newsletter. CLICK HERE TO READ THE NEWSLETTER, PAGES 1-5. Each of us has a unique perspective on how we have developed resilience and maintained a positive mindset as we manage our voice disorder so we hope to share encouraging ideas with each other.
Participation in discussion is completely voluntary as you may prefer to listen only, and you can choose not to show your image or name. This is a safe and comfortable space where sharing our stories and problem solving together will give each of us support.
You can join us on your computer, laptop, iPad, or tablet. For the Zoom login information and to RSVP, please email Judy Rodwell at alabamadysphoniainternational@gmail.com or heyjude73@gmail.com.
