You can unknowingly impact the life of someone living with a voice disorder.  Resources are available to build sensitivity and an inclusive workplace, where everyone feels welcomed.

Building sensitivity for those with a voice disorder

Laughing at a stutter, covering your mouth so you don’t catch something, finishing someone else’s sentence when they don’t speak fast enough…You may not know it, but behaviors like this make it even more difficult for people living with voice disorders. These very common behaviors can cause embarrassment for someone struggling to just words out.  It is important to learn how you can provide a safe and comfortable environment for everyone with a disability as well as the special needs of someone with a voice disorder.
