We hope that you are all well and enjoying the first sightings of spring!
We would like to announce that the Portland Area Support Group will hold a Zoom meeting for people with spasmodic dysphonia and related voice conditions on Saturday, April 17, 2021 from 10:00 am – 11:30 am PT.
This meeting will be hosted by Janet Gensert of Portland, Oregon, and Dorothy Tannahill-Moran from Kansas. Dorothy has graciously offered to temporarily co-lead our group until someone from this area is able to volunteer to help out in a co-leadership position. We are pleased that Kimberly Kuman, Executive Director of the National Spasmodic Dysphonia Association, will also join us!
The discussion for this meeting will focus on medical insurance coverage issues for treatment of voice disorders. We invite you to share any experiences that you have had, positive and/or negative, with various insurance companies. We would like to collect your stories to gain some insight into the problems people encounter and potentially answer some of your questions regarding the rejection of insurance coverage.
We would also like to have a discussion on how people have been coping during the pandemic. What have you found to be helpful? What have the challenges been for you?
We hope to see you at the meeting!
Take good care,
Janet and Dorothy

“We don’t yet see things clearly. We are squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We’ll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing Him directly just as He knows us!”
