Lean and Learn is an online group for individuals with spasmodic dysphonia hosted via Zoom by Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, FL. Weekly group sessions are facilitated by a peer, a speech-language pathologist (SLP), and graduate students in an SLP program. Members discuss topics relevant to spasmodic dysphonia, share experiences and potentially develop supportive and friendly connections. There is no charge for participation.
About Hélène R. Fisher, SLP.D., CCC | Hélène R. Fisher is an associate professor in Speech-Language Pathology at Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Her area of specialization is Voice-Resonance Disorders, Craniofacial Anomalies and Gender Affirming Voice Care. Dr. Fisher teaches graduate level classes and supervises graduate clinicians in the evaluation and treatment of clients of all age.

Daniel Lee Bray
ALIVE FOREVER MOREAugust 24, 1984 – December 20, 2020 (36 years old)
Daniel was a son, brother, animal lover, artist, animator, poet, rapper, musician and extraordinary soul who was filled with extraordinary faith while conquering enormous challenges after being diagnosed with Spasmodic Dysphonia at 19 years old. His story is a story of triumph, victory, courage and understanding. Daniel left many life lessons and through his experience on earth he will continue to touch lives inspiring us all to be more aware and to build more awareness of what brought him home. Daniel is a warrior and his inspiration that has been collected by his family will be used to bring hope and to change the world!
