TOPIC: “Spasmodic Dysphonia, Botox, Voice Therapy, Oh My!”

Mrs. Dea Deming is a graduate of the University of South Florida and has been practicing in the Tampa Bay Area since 1993. She is co-founder, past president and secretary and current executive board member of the Tampa Bay Medical Speech Pathology Association. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings including private schools, hospitals, subacute rehab facilities, long-term care facilities and otolaryngology offices. Dea worked with a local otolaryngology practice from 2000-2008 developing a coordinated voice and swallowing program. In 2008, she established her private practice and also worked to set up several voice programs in the Tampa Bay region. She founded and was the Lead SLP at the Voice Center at Palms of Pasadena Hospital (in St. Petersburg) for voice and upper airway disorders from 2008-2021. Unfortunately, the Voice Center was dissolved by the hospital in September of 2021 and Dea is now working to expand her private practice in both Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties and via telehealth services. When Dea is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two college-age children. She enjoys the beach, the sand and lobstering in the FL Keys.
