The Milwaukee Area NSDA Support Group is delighted to invite you to a support meeting on Thursday, March 3rd at 6:00 PM CST.
Since the gathering is virtual, we have expanded our reach to include surrounding states. All are welcome to attend no matter your location!
Our speakers, Dr. Joel Blumin and Sarah Erter, SLP will speak about their work in the field of Spasmodic Dysphonia.
There will be time for questions, so please bring yours!
About Our Speakers:
Joel H. Blumin, MD, FACS is Professor of Otolaryngology and Communication Sciences and Chief of the Division of Laryngology and Professional Voice at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Blumin focuses his practice on diseases of the larynx and treatment of vocal professionals in all walks of life. He has been internationally recognized for his care of patients with spasmodic dysphonia. He is a member of the NSDA Medical Advisory board and has been a resource for the NSDA over many years. He also treats patients with airway stenosis, head & neck cancer, swallowing disorders, and tumors of the larynx. His research interests lie in neurolaryngology, laryngopharyngeal reflux, and spasmodic dysphonia/laryngeal dystonias.
Sarah Erter, MS, CCC-SLP, is a voice and swallowing specialist within the department of Otolaryngology at Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin. She earned her Master of Science in Communication Disorders (Speech-Language Pathology) from the University of Oregon and completed a clinical fellowship in voice and swallowing at Oregon Health & Sciences University. Sarah’s clinical interested includes voice rehabilitation, gender affirming voice therapy, respiratory retraining, head and neck cancer, and dysphagia.

ALIVE FOREVER MOREAugust 24, 1984 – December 20, 2020 (36 years old)
Daniel was a son, brother, animal lover, artist, animator, poet, rapper, musician and extraordinary soul who was filled with extraordinary faith while conquering enormous challenges after being diagnosed with Spasmodic Dysphonia at 19 years old. His story is a story of triumph, victory, courage and understanding. Daniel left many life lessons and through his experience on earth he will continue to touch lives inspiring us all to be more aware and to build more awareness of what brought him home. Daniel is a warrior and his inspiration that has been collected by his family will be used to bring hope and to change the world!
