Please join the Greater New York Dysphonia Support Group for a virtual meeting on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at 6:30 PM ET.
Our guest speaker will be Joyce Bendavid, who will introduce us to the Feldenkrais Method. With almost ten years of experience, Joyce will explain what it is and then demonstrate it. During this lesson on the Feldenkrais Method, you will be guided through a sequence of gentle movements as you become aware of their connections to your whole being. As you attend to the improving quality of your movements, unnecessary muscular tensions can reorganize. This neuromuscular re-education allows for overall improvement in all areas of daily function, including ease of your breath which can help voicing.
We were introduced to Joyce by one of our group’s long-time members, who has found practicing the Feldenkrais Method helpful in managing the symptoms associated with his voice disorder. We hope you will join us for this interesting presentation!

About Our Speaker | Joyce Bendavid, OTR, GCFP, has embraced the Feldenkrais Method since 2014. Learning the method has returned Joyce to a life full of career, family and fun following a serious episode of septic shock that left her with amputations of her toes. She continues to teach a daily free Zoom class to share the Method with others. Prior to that, Joyce worked as an Occupational Therapist in a variety of settings, including adult facilities, schools, and a private practice. Joyce believes that little by little, each and every person in each and every way can improve and expand their life. Joyce lives in Teaneck, NJ, where she has raised her children who, are now busy raising their own children.

“We don’t yet see things clearly. We are squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We’ll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing Him directly just as He knows us!”
