Join us for a special meeting with a viewing of the newly-released short film, Cookie.
This 15-minute film is about a young woman who after losing her voice to a debilitating vocal condition, fights to find it again to pursue her dream of acting. We are excited that the film’s creator and producer Shane Hartline (pictured right) will join us to discuss the film and answer questions. Shane has lived with spasmodic dysphonia since early childhood but it did not stop him from pursuing his goals of acting and now producing and directing. He said, “This is not only loosely my story but also the story of everyone who struggles with spasmodic dysphonia”. Shane hopes it will raise awareness about spasmodic dysphonia, the challenges it presents, and provides hope to those living with a voice condition.
The meeting is also the day before World Voice Day which is
celebrated every April 16th with the main goal of increasing public awareness throughout the world of the importance of the voice and
the impact of voice problems. The 2020 theme for World Voice Day is
ONE WORLD|MANY VOICE.
Learn more about Shane from these interviews on YouTube with the NSDA
that were released last year for World Voice Day.

“We don’t yet see things clearly. We are squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We’ll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing Him directly just as He knows us!”
