All are invited to join us for an informative presentation by Mindy Bixby, MD from Scripps Health using Zoom.

Dystonia – A Comprehensive Approach to Care and Treatment.
Dr. Mindy Bixby is a neurologist who specializes in movement disorders, brain injury medicine and headache. She has been practicing medicine since 2012 and takes an individual approach to each patient’s care that includes understanding their unique needs and goals. Dr. Bixby believes in educating, empowering and supporting patients and their families, and encouraging them to be involved in all aspects of healing. As a movement disorder specialist, Dr. Bixby cares for patients with essential tremor, dystonia, Parkinson’s disease, ataxia and rare movement disorders. She also treats a comprehensive range of headache syndromes such as migraine, cluster, tension and atypical headaches.
Dr. Bixby’s research focuses on building an understanding of the effect
of the gut-brain axis (GBA) on various neurological disease states, The GBA links emotional and cognitive centers of the brain with peripheral intestinal functions and gut microbiota. She also is a firm believer in teaching and participates in teaching internal medicine residents at Scripps.

ALIVE FOREVER MOREAugust 24, 1984 – December 20, 2020 (36 years old)
Daniel was a son, brother, animal lover, artist, animator, poet, rapper, musician and extraordinary soul who was filled with extraordinary faith while conquering enormous challenges after being diagnosed with Spasmodic Dysphonia at 19 years old. His story is a story of triumph, victory, courage and understanding. Daniel left many life lessons and through his experience on earth he will continue to touch lives inspiring us all to be more aware and to build more awareness of what brought him home. Daniel is a warrior and his inspiration that has been collected by his family will be used to bring hope and to change the world!
