Please join us for the Greater Detroit NSDA Support Group Meeting!
We are happy to announce our next Greater Detroit NSDA Support Group Meeting is scheduled for Saturday, March 7th, 2020 from 10 am to 12 noon at Henry Ford Hospital, West Bloomfield.
The agenda includes an opportunity to again hear from Anjli Lodhavia. Anjli will speak on behavioral relaxation training and stress management of SD. Anjli Lodhavia, MS.CCC-SLP is a speech pathologist with the Henry Ford System.
Since she already has educated us in the physiology of vocal disorders her focus will largely be a hands-on behavioral training! She will expand on diaphragmatic breathing and progressive muscle relaxation techniques which can aid in a stronger, less distorted vocalization and overall reduction of stress. She plans to teach us a stretch and flow technique which works on a hierarchy of speech patterns starting with sounds, and moves through words and sentences.
Both during and after her presentation there will be opportunities for questions. Following her presentation each group member will have a chance to participate in a group share that illuminates each members’ living with SD; or family/ friends journey alongside someone with SD.

“We don’t yet see things clearly. We are squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We’ll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing Him directly just as He knows us!”
