You are invited to a meeting hosted by the NSDA Southeastern Pennsylvania Support Group for people with spasmodic dysphonia and other related voice conditions.
Our guest speaker, Teresa Jacobson Kimberley, PhD, PT, (pictured right) is Professor and Director of the Brain Recovery Lab, in the Department of Physical Therapy in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, MA. She is also a core faculty member in the Center for Neurotechnology and Neurorecovery and research staff in the Department of Neurology at Mass General Hospital and at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. Her lab’s focus is to understand the pathophysiology of motor impairment and develop novel rehabilitation interventions for neurologic disorders, including dystonia and stroke.
Her research helped to pioneer the use of neuroimaging and non-invasive or minimally invasive brain stimulation in the investigation of recovery from neurologic disease. Her work is funded through the National Institutes of Health, private foundations and industry partners. She is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Neurologic Physical Therapy and Physical Therapy Journal Editorial Board Member.
Dr. Kimberley will present “Dystonia is all in your head: How we know and what to do about it”. After the presentation the group will have time for discussion and questions.

“We don’t yet see things clearly. We are squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We’ll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing Him directly just as He knows us!”
