Please join us for a virtual meeting on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at 7:00 PM ET.
Join us for a discussion titled Accommodations for Communicating with Others, a workshop designed by and successfully utilized by Leaders of Dysphonia International. We welcome you to share and learn tips/tricks that may ease our interactions with others. A preview of the discussion is below:
Communication is vital. For many, the interruption in the ability to communicate is a driving factor in seeking a diagnosis for a voice disorder. They seek solutions because they want to be heard and understood. The tough reality with voice disorders is that even with the most successful of treatments, there may still be times when symptoms interfere. The good news is that there are things that can be done to help. Will we make those changes? Will we ask listeners to make changes? What type of changes are needed? Are the changes possible for a given situation? Who makes the change and what changes they make can be different for different listeners and situations.

“We don’t yet see things clearly. We are squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We’ll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing Him directly just as He knows us!”
