We would like you to join us in Palo Alto on Saturday, September 16, from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM for an informal gathering of our local support group for folks with spasmodic dysphonia or other voice conditions. In the pre-Covid era, we often met in person to share our experiences and stay up-to-date on current research and treatment protocols. But we’ve wound up canceling several such events due to Covid. So, fingers crossed that we can get together while the weather is still nice.
Feel free to bring family members (especially youngsters who might like to swim).
I am particularly eager to see you all since Nat and I are planning to downsize to a cottage in Los Altos next spring, and we’d like to take advantage of the big backyard space while we have it. Also, as you know, Colleen Chon has agreed to join me as co-leader of our support group, and I’m hoping those of you who haven’t met Colleen can get to know her. Colleen’s note to you is below. Please let us know if you plan to come so we can get a headcount. I will send more complete directions to all those who respond Yes or Maybe to attending on September 16.
I hope to see many of you in September. Please save the date.
***I’m happy to partner with Marcia to co-lead the Bay Area support group. Having SD can be challenging, especially in the early days when you don’t know what it is. Being part of this community has been a great way for me to stay informed and meet other folks with this condition. Now, I’d like to give back and take a more active role in helping folks with SD and other voice challenges. I’m currently still working in product management, which is a high communication role. So, I’m happy to give my perspective and share ideas on how to cope in the workplace. I look forward to getting to know some of you and am always open to meeting up 1:1 via Zoom, email, or coffee. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org.***
