2020 Walk for Talk Thank You
The NSDA came together as a community with camaraderie, mentoring, visibility, unity, empowerment, encouragement, and strength. Over 330 people from Canada, Columbia, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore and 42 states in the U.S. worked to raise awareness and funds to find answers for spasmodic dysphonia and related voice conditions.
At first, we had hoped to raise $50,000 but we far exceeded that goal. With your support, $114,441 was raised, and thanks to special donors, all of those gifts were matched for a total of $228,882. We are humbled by your generosity!
The Walk included people living with a voice disorder, family, friends, and healthcare professionals along with dogs, cats, two goats, a giraffe and even a dinosaur! We had 20 NSDA Support Groups and ten NSDA Area Contact Persons participate. People walked, jogged, ran, biked, and even surfed raising awareness in National Parks, state parks, and local neighborhoods! There were summer days, fall colors, and even snow! All with the goal of using our feet to help defeat spasmodic dysphonia and related voice conditions.
