2020 NSDA Support Group Contest Intent Form

Coming Together as Community

The idea behind the 2020 NSDA Support Group Contest is to encourage people to dip their toe into fundraising, have a little competitive fun, and raise money to fund more research, which is so important to all of us. We are excited that you have decided to sponsor a local fundraising event.  We know that this is a major commitment, but by working together, the support organization can deliver amazing results.  Remember, your fundraising efforts should be complete by December 31, 2020 to qualify for this year’s contest.

Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous benefactor, there is a new special match specifically for donations raised by NSDA Support Groups up to $20,000! This donor is passionate about research and engaging our local support groups in fundraising. The money raised, along with the matching funds, will be earmarked for grants with a focus on advancing treatment for spasmodic dysphonia. We are excited about this incredible opportunity for the groups to make even more of an impact with their fundraising efforts! With your efforts, the NSDA Support Group Fundraising Research Match can help drive this research forward with the potential to help so many.

We know that it is challenging to fund raise when you are socially distancing, so we are excited to announce the first-ever virtual NSDA Walk for Talk. This 5K and Fun Walk will be held from October 22 to 25, 2020. The best part is you can participate wherever you live! A special event website will be launched soon, where you can register (there is no cost to participate), create a team or individual fundraising page, and encourage your family and friends to support you by using their feet to defeat spasmodic dysphonia and related voice conditions.

Enter your fundraising information in the form below to inform the NSDA of your intention to participate.  We will reach out to discuss the resources available through the NSDA. Any questions? Feel free to reach out to Executive Director Kimberly Kuman at kkuman@dysphonia.org. We are here to help you and your group to reach your goals!
