Botox and Scar Tissue

Hi everyone, I was just thinking about the last time I went for a Botox injection. The doctor had a hard time getting to the right spot and said that I had a build up of scar tissue so that could be the problem. I have only had about 10 injections and wonder why there would be scar tissue. I'm also wondering what damage can be done between the injection site and the muscles of the vocal cords. It's kinda scary when you think about it, however, when it works it is a wonderful feeling.

Hi Doris

I have probably had close to 40 Botox injections, and they don't work very well anymore. My doctor thinks it may be scar tissue and has decided to inject through the side of my neck the next time instead of through my throat. I am scheduled for the shot the 6th of Dec. I will tell you how it goes. Wish there was a "patch"!!!

Hi Ida, wouldn't it be great if there were a patch?? I will be having another Botox injection in December so I will let you know how that goes. My last injection didn't work. It will be interesting to hear from you regarding the injection through the neck. Hope it works for you. Good luck!!! But I still wonder if going through all of that cartilage can cause other problems for all of us? Hummmm.
