I had my 1st shot 2 1/2 weeks ago...still breathy & whispery but this has been my best voice since the 80's. I can deal with this!!! I've always had this cracking & breaking voice, & it was just too embarassing to talk to people. I always had to repeat myself & it was torture 'cause it felt like pulling my voice from under my feet. I was also getting migraine headaches about 3x a week probably from all the stress & anxiety of facing another day. Now I talk to people with ease, especially over the phone (in the office) where the volume can be adjusted to a higher level, whereas before, when the phone rings I'd get too tense & nervous. I ask people if they can hear me okay & so far, it's been positive. I'm just wondering for how long I can have this "good" voice. When does it start breaking & cracking again & does it happen overnight?

The length of the "good voice" varies amongst people. For me I'm breathy for a few weeks (every week usually gets better until 1 month out when I'm back to normal) Then my voice is usually good for about 4-5 months. Usually it takes a few tries before you find the amount that works best giving you maximum voice and minimum breathiness.

Usually it doesn't get worse overnight (for me at least) it just gradually starts getting worse until it's time to get a new one. I try to schedule a new shot before my voice starts getting really bad.

Good luck with your injections.
