Hi Folks Well, unfortunately I will be returning for another botox injection. I had my last injection April 30, and began 900 mil. neurotin a day about 1 month later (starting with smaller dosages and working my way up). My doctor then increased it to 1800 a day, which I am currently taking. It appears that the neurontin has extended the effect of the botox shot for about 2 months. I had the best voice this last time than I've had in years. So---was it an excellent injection, or the neurontin? I don't know. I'll keep you posted with the next experience. Lorraine AD/SD |

Neurontin is a prescription drug that many patients have been taking to help their SD. It was originally intended for treating seizures. It helps some people and doesn't help with others. I've been taking it for a year along with botox and it's definitely improved my voice and I've been able to extend my shots. However like any medication I would definitely do some research on it. If you do a search on this board you'll find a lot of posts discussing the subject. Good luck! |
