Dr .Malcolm Baxter is conducting a formal trial of a Thyroplasty Type 2 program for SD in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He is currently assessing the long term results for the initial group and has used it on at least 11 patients of whom about half have had a significant improvement, as judged by fluency and effort, but most have had some degree of residual dysphonia. There have been no major complications.”
