Hello - I have recently been diagnosed with SD. I would like to find out when there is a CHAT about SD but I cannot seem to find it on the Bulletin Board page. (I am not very computer-wise) |

Hi Jeanne, Welcome to the NSDA Bulletin Board. You came to the right place. Don't worry about being un-computer-savvy. I worked in the computer field for 30 years but still can't figure alot of things out, in the current online environment. We are all here to help each other though. There are two chat sessions you may be interested in. Since you are on AOL, there is a weekly session from 4pm-5pm Eastern time every Sunday. Due to take place shortly. I will send the AOL hyper-link to your private e-mail so that you could chat today if you want. This chat room has been going on for several years (almost 5?), under the coordination of Doris White ("dorisma2@aol.com"). Doris is always very helpful and welcoming to new members. In addition, several of us AOL'ers drop in regularly or peridically. It's a good group of old-timers and new-comers. The WeMove chat that Lloyd mentioned (for anyone, no matter what ISP you have) currently meets Tuesdays at 4pm-5pm Eastern time but we plan to change that soon, to possibly Tuesday evenings. Julie will be putting out an announcement on the BB. Three of us will alternate as hosts. So, there are a couple of options. Its definately not worth joining AOL even for a great chat room, but is it accessable for non-'members' ? :) |

Hi Todd, Sorry to say this but AOL only allows AOL members to have access to their chat rooms. :( It's really not that bad you know, I've been with AOL since '96 and don't have problems. Again, sorry that you can't join us but as Julie said, she has an SD chat at the WeMove site so perhaps you'll be able to make that one. Best wishes, Doris |

Hi Jeanne, It would be great if you could join in on a chat! Like Lynne and Lloyd said, there are a few sceduled chats to try and make it to. We hope to start our evening chat on WE MOVE on Tuesday, October 1st from 6-7 PST for those who prefer an evening chat(I will put up an official post on that when I am sure of the date). What time zone are you in? I hope at least on of these chat times will work for you. I hope to see you in chat soon! It is a wonderful source of support. Julie Winn

Hi Julie, I'll be there to join you next Tuesday at 6pm, Pacific Time. I hope others can also. Doesn't matter what Service Provider everyone has. AOL "Voices" is one forum but you have to have AOL. This WeMove forum is available to everyone, no matter what ISP. We didn't have such a good hosted time slot in the past, but still there were people from Australia and various states on. Let's really promote this one. Chatting with other SD'ers is fun. It's not difficult to get on. How about we all meet there on October 1st at 6pm (Julie's and my time)!?! If anyone needs any instructions, to get onto the chat, let me know. I'm sure Julie will be putting out links and directions. Thanks Julie. --Lynne

OK everybody, the new sceduled chat time is official! It will be held every Tuesday on WeMove, from 6-7pm. PST.
