Hi Everyone, Haven't been reading the messages the past few weeks because I have been swamped at night. It was good today to take some time and read the old messages. I see some new names too. My voice has been so good the last 6 weeks. I guess the doctor hit the correct muscle. I haven't had a Botox injection since April, but have one scheduled for October. Seems like the voice is startng to "fade".

Hello Lynne. Any trips to tucons planned soon?

Katrina/Tucson/AB

Hi Katrina,

Welcome back. (I added extra words to your subject line in case anyone has to *search* the BB).

No trips to Tucson planned for several months. Working on my SS Disability case. My next travel is to Miami in November for the Worldwide Dystonia Symposium and (guess what!)...the photo I'm sending to folks, so people can *recognize me* in Miami, is the one of us at Tohono Chul Park in Tucson following the Arizona SD Symposium. Hope you don't mind. Now, some other SD'ers know what you look like! You're getting great reviews with that picture. ;-)

Good to get your report on recent Botox treatments and how well your voice is doing. Just recently, some SD-people I've known online for several years (but never "heard" their voices) are wondering if they might also have AB, instead of AD, or maybe mixed-AD/AB. They thought they had AD but don't have the classic symptoms of AD. Re AB, I know that injecting the PCA muscle is challenging (more difficult than injecting the muscles for AD/SD) for even a doctor who is experienced. We heard alot about that in Arizona; and, anatomically (with some things Bill Vanderlinde/others educated us on, via this BB), it makes sense. It was neat that you and so many others with AB made it to that symposium. I sure learned alot about AB there, from various patients.

Good to see you back on the BB, Katrina! Hope the school year is going well. Your statement: "guess the doctor hit the correct muscle" is KEY to so many patients, AD and AB. When it hits right...Hooray. So glad it's working for you now. Otherwise, it's tough to deal with all those boisterous students!

later, Lynne (AD/SD; NoCal)

Hi Lynne, I won't be going to Miami this year, but you and others will keep us posted on the information. I am so glad I went to the one in Scottsdale last spring. It was very informative. Regarding the picture: I hope you got my good side!!

Take care, Katrina

Hi Katrina, again.

Yes, we'll keep everyone posted. Glad you had such a great time in Scottsdale, but it's just up Interstate 10 from you and Miami is on I-95! Many miles apart! If I didn't have all those FF miles, I couldn't make it either. Arizona was an awesome symposium; but, they usually are. Everyone should go to one. Don't you think?

I'm not the "keeping-everyone-posted" person even though I always take detailed, personal notes and can reflect on them afterward. David Barton and Anne Brett are the *champs* of transcription (of tapes at times), over many years. And, Linda Adamson (in her first symposium) made a huge contribution in recording Arizona on her laptop, as we all sat there. She did a great job.

When I look at pics of us two (and send them to the people who will meet me in Miami), I say..."I'm the fat brunette and Katrina's the cute redhead." Then some people say...there are no fat women in that picture. It's so funny. You look good, and it's fun to laugh about it. But, the most important thing is that your voice is working.

--Lynne
