Allergies and Botox

Hi Everyone,

I had another botox injection a week and a half ago and am still in the breathy stage. I have been coughing and wheezing this whole time and thinking back to previous injections I have coughed alot following those injections. Am beginning to think that I may be allergic to Botox. Does anyone else out there have this problem? I have had about 15 injections total..About half of them have worked.

i have coughing and choking on liquids right after but it only lasts a few hours. my doctor here in tampa florida told me that was normal. how long does yours last? cheer

Hi Cher,

Sorry, just found your post!! I actually cough most of the time. I haven't figured out why but have been coughing for about 12 years. I used to think it was from smoking, however, have not smoked for 5 years and am still coughing. I have been told that it could be from the spasms of SD, acid reflux, allergies, post nasal drip, etc.. But nothing seems to help. But after my botox injections the cough usually gets worst and normally last through the breathy stage and then just return to the normal cough...Don't seem to know what it's all about...guess I should see a specialist. Right now, I am 4 weeks post botox and I am still coughing, hoarse and sound like I am in the bottom of a well...which is a new experience!! Whew!!! Wish we could all just blink our eyes (like Samantha on "Bewitched" used to do) and make this SD, etc. just disappear.

doris i would give just about anything to be able to wiggle my nose like samantha the witch and make all of this disappear. since i contacted you last the shots have stopped working for me and i am stuck in a permenant whisper mode that does not seem to want to go away.i have reflux as well. and anxiety attacks. i don't know what i am going to do- i just can't deal with it all right now. they say when things get to be too much that we need to break it down into little pockets of info that we can deal with- i guess whoever wrote that never had to deal with the the job, the health insurance, the public, the phone, and all the related sd problems all at the same time. i would go see someone but i don't have health insurance anymore. next week i will look into the wonderful world of wic and assistance, but this week i just want to put my head under the covers. cher
