WHY AM I SNORTING?????????

I have only been diagnosed with AD/SD for a few months and am new to this. I tried the GABA everyone was touting and think it helps. However, my palate seems to be very soft and floppy all the sudden and I keep SNORTING! It is soooo embarrassing! Anyone else do this?

Sandy,

Some of us snort and some of us squeak and some of us can't breathe (tons of phleghm we have to get rid of) and some of us sound gravelly and some of us sound hoarse and some of us have such severe spasms that we can't say our own name. SD runs the spectrum. Welcome.

This is truly the best place to meet people who deal with similar issues; but, all of our SD cases are different and it's never easy. Good luck in getting the answer to your "why" question. My guess is...if you stick with it...your answers will most likely come from this Bulletin Board OR from attending a symposium, where you can meet 150 SD patients in person, face-on. Often easier than finding a doctor who can figure it out.

Happy New Year and good luck in obtaining your answer. If you are anywhere close to Arizona (or you can fly) come March...you could meet others at the March 9th symposium who might share this issue. Please share your location and condition at the bottom of your post so that folks can more aptly answer your post. Take care.

I agree with you Lynne, each of us are so individual and different that is what makes the Conferences so much fun! Happy New Year to All and my deepest apologies for not keeping up with the correspondence. I guess a phase we all go through is "whatever" and then we realize we do need each other, thanks for being there even though I wasn't! God Bless Teressa
