Can you get botox if you have a cold?

Hi, I'm scheduled for my first botox injection next week and I think I'm getting a cold. I've heard that you can't get the injection if you're sick and I was wondering if that was true and if so why. I really don't want to have to put it off
Thanks,
Kristan

Kristan,
I don't think having a cold is reason alone to cancel your shot. If you get your shots directly into the throat, it may be difficult not to cough/breathe during the needle insertion. Your voice may also sound different which could make finding the right spot more difficult.

Kristan,

I have cancelled an appt. for an injection due to a cold, because of the congestion problem. It's really difficult to clear your throat of mucous, especially in the beginning weeks after receiving Botox.
