Has anyone who gets botox for ABSD experienced any lightheadedness or dizziness?

Hi,

In doing a bit of research I find that there are possible links between botox and changes in the brain (mostly associated, I think, with injections given into the forehead for cosmetic purposes), but also reports of dizziness, etc. Again, this may be mostly associated with cosmetic injections, but given that botox can travel in the body beyond the injection point, I suppose anything is possible.

What is interesting in my case is that I've been experiencing light-headedness and dizziness of varying degrees for years. Whether or not it coincides with my starting botox back in 2003 is uncertain. The timeframe for the two does almost sound about right. Various MRIs and other tests never really showed anything other than a recent diagnosis of tinnitus and atypical meniere's, although the lightheadedness goes back long before that.

I've always felt comfortable getting my laryngeal botox shots, but since no definitive cause for the lightheadedness of the past has ever been determined, it does make me wonder if there could be a possible link.

Any thoughts or input welcomed...thanks.

I had unexplained vertigo for about six months following my first injection. I had a battery of tests and the doctors could find no medical explanation. The vertigo began within a couple of days of getting my first injection and ended when my voice returned to baseline. I have never had that happen again.

Even though my throat is numb when I get my botox shots, i can feel the prick of the needle in my vocal cords. My last shot the prick wasn't in the normal middle of my vocal cords. The pricks on each cord was out more by my ears. About 2 weeks after my shot, I began feeling light-headed. it's especially noticeable when I have the opportunity to do a considerable amount of talking. It's not the feeling of being dizzy, but it's like feeling off kilter. My PA recommended some inner ear exercises and said they would help within a few days. They haven't made any difference. just wondering if anyone else has noticed this symptom.

I started getting botox 3 years ago. For the last couple years I've had occasional lightheadedness and as someone else said just feel a little "off kilter". Never really had this before botox. Seems like its gotten better the last year or so. Its not severe and doesn't really affect my qualify of life but I do wonder as well if its related to the botox.

Yes, lightheadedness and drowsiness are listed side-effects. Since my clinic only has morning hours, I tend to feel sleepy the afternoon of the shot. It wears off pretty quickly for me, though.
