Running and Botox

Hi! I have a combo of AD and AB (mainly AD) and haven't had a Botox injection for almost seven years, mainly because I couldn't run after receiving an injection.
Anyone else out there with SD a runner? Not a jogger but a serious runner? I'd like to try Botox again but do not want to compromise my running/training (I run marathons).
The Botox affected by breathing, though not in normal day-to-day activities.
Has anyone else noticed this? I feel pulled between speaking clearly and being able to do something I love dearly and am fairly good at.
Thanks!

I've just had one BTX injection , but have noticed that I'm much more winded during , and especially exhausted afterwards. I was wondering if this was just coincidental, since I have not heard of any others. interesting

I have AB and like to hike. When I first start walking, especially up hill, I find myself out of breath, but, as I continue, the breathing gets easier. It's as if I'm pulling more oxygen into my lungs.

I try not to exercise really strenuously for about the first three weeks after the shot. I don't feel like I am getting my lungs really full of air for about the first month. Walking is fine, running not so fine.

In answer to your question. Botox can and does affect breathing...In fact, most all Doctor now have a disclaimer they have to give patients, informing about the possible side effects of Botox...Breathing difficulty is the main side. I have been getting botox for SD since 1991, and noticed breathing problems about seven years ago.

I am not a runner, but I do excercise and I have always been healthy...I was diagnosed with sleep apnea about five years ago...My breathing went into shallow breath almost to the point of stopping 27 times in one hour. I am normal weight for my height and stopped smoking in "93"...I did cut way back on the amount of Botox per injection. Now 1.5 per side.

Hope this helps...
