Has anyone had a problem with getting Botox injections while sick? I'm due for my next shot but have the flu. Thanks, Stacy

Hi Stacy,
I'm in Australia and it may be different policy here, but the docs here wont give the shots if you have any upper respitory infection.

There are several studies that show that Botox injections given while people are ill with an upper resitory infections or people who develop one immediately after getting a Botox injection will ofter have shorter duration of benefit from the injections. The reason for this is not fully understood although it is speculated that the increased blood flow to the area from the infection response may remove some of the toxin from the site more quickly than normal.

Hope you are feeling better soon.
