Recently on TV I saw a warning from a law office about the bad effects of Reglan. As used for stomach problems, they claim it can cause dystonia type symptoms. I have had this medicine administered through IV after several surgeries as an anti nausea drug. First surgery was in '98 which seems to be when I first noticed what turned out to be SD. Now I have a writer's cramp as well as uncontrollable clicking in my ear. Suspicious???? |

I agree its suspicious. I was on Reglan for 15 months and didnt have SD symptoms until I started taking the medicine. I thought for some reason that it my voice was broken/hoarse due to reflux that I was experiencing and the doctor who proscribed the mediciation didnt catch it either, he actually told me to go back to my allergy Doctor. Some Dr. huh? Took me about well 15 months to be diagnosed. I was diagnosed with ADSD February 2009. |

I guess my point was the possibility of legal action against this drug. Probably impossible to document at this time. Sadly, too late. |

I did contact a lawyer but he was such a jerk that I didnt want to deal with him. I decided I am not the type of person to persue legal action. The lawyer said it sounded like the doctor was at fault. Its hard to decide what to do because here we now have SD and will have it forever until a cure is found. But I guess I thought that would hate to ruin someone else's life, even though they ruined mine. I am handling the SD okay now with the help of some medication that helps my anxiety. |

The drug companies are the real culprits. Many of us would have refused such a drug if any warnings had been given. |
