Does anyone have a recommendation for a doctor in the Dallas area? I'm moving from New York to Dallas at the end of the summer, and will have to continue my botox injections there. I hate to leave my NYC doctor, Dr. Milan Amin at the NYU Vocal Disorders clinic within the NYU Medical Center. He's been wonderful. But, alas, work calls me elsewhere. Dr. Ted Mau and Dr. Barbara Schultz at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center both do botox injections for SD. I've used Dr. Schultz and I've also heard good recommendations from people who have used Dr. Mau. The best place to find medical professionals (ENT doctor, neurologist, speech therapist, etc.) with experience diagnosing and treating SD or other voice disorders is on the NSDA website at http://www.dysphonia.org and then click on the Healthcare Referral link on the top menu. Mark- I have used Dr. Mau at the UT Southwest Med Center here in Dallas with great success. I have abductor SD. Dr. Mau administered my first botox injection in February and the results for me so far are phenomenal. Dr. Barbara Schultz also comes highly recommended by others with SD here in North Texas and she also is at UT Southwest. JamesW

Through the neck, and except for a little discomfort, pain free. Dr. Mau was very patient and explained the whole process before and during the procedure so there were no surprises. JamesW
