I've done the Botox thing and had a good voice (although it seemed strange to me) after about three months of almost no voice. The "good voice" lasted maybe 6 weeks. Now I'm back to the pre-Botox strained MTD voice. I asked the speech therapist I was seeing if there was a computer program I could use for therapy and feedback and she gave me the website www.praat.org to try. Does anyone have any experience with Praat? I have yet to be able to get the downloaded program to work. I guess I need an external microphone, although Windows XP Pro supposedly has an internal microphone (????). Would greatly appreciate any advice!!! |

Would appreciate any help in this area if any of you have used a home computer voice therapy program that allows you to speak into a micrphone, listen to your recorded voice and get feedback from the program to aid in improving your voice. Thanks!! Al |

The people at George Washington University in D.C. used to have a program for people with voice disorders, including SD and MTD, that uses a computer biofeedback program for voice therapy. You should get in touch with them: Voice Treatment Center
