Hi Jane,I'm so sorry to hear about your stroke. It sounds like an unfortunate coincidence. A blood clot from your throat could not go directly to your brain, unless the doctor hit the carotid artery. If you hit the carotid artery with a needle, you would know it, because it would bleed like crazy. A blood clot in your throat would more likely be in a vein rather than an artery. From there, it would go to the right side of your heart, and then to your lungs, not to your brain. Hope this helps. -- Ed
