Hi there. I have never been botoxed, but I have been looking for your updates. Sorry about the "frog in your throat," but I'm wondering, how are you? Are your spasms alleviated? Are you very breathy? Do you notice improvement each day? Best to you.

Hi and thanks for asking. After the shot I sounded the same untill the next day. The following day I was at a whisper. I had minor and I mean minor difficulty swallowing. I was very breathy like Marilyn Monroe, lol. The next day I had a low voice that was breathy and a sort of helium sounding voice. No spasms and no tremor at all. THe next day I had more voice but still low, but now it was raspy, hoarse, alittle breathy and it sounded "froggy" lol. Today I have that same voice all day but tonight my normal voice is creeping back with alittle more volume and no spasms and no tremor. Tomorrow is day 7 since the initial injection. I will update as I go. So far so good. I love the no spasm no tremor. I do hear the normal voice coming back again.

Do you have AB or AD? I assume most people on this board have AD, but it sure would be helpful to know for sure, especially when we read about experiences like this.

Thanks much and good luck!

I have mostly adductor....but some tremor also. and add to it abductor, but I may have been compensating abductor to stop the adductor. But in any case its mostly my left vocal cord. And I had 1.5 bilateral. I now sound like classic laryngitis, raspy, hoarse, no volume. I am noticing no spasms no tremor and no hesitation and I am not too breathy. In the morning I can talk better, and I sound pretty normal untill I go to teach at work and start talking up a storm, than I am actually straining and my voice is shot, it sounds like I have laryngitis. In any case this is normal for having botox one week ago, my first shot ever so its a trial period. I am looking forward to the results and I feel very positive about this experience. My Doctor is great. I really trust him. I believe he is smart and he took his time with me.
He is located at Mt Sinai Voice Center in Manhattan.

Excellent for anyone needing a ENT in Manhattan.
