Our local news did a report on a woman who lost her voice after having a cyst removed from her thyroid. The used the wrinkle drug called Radiesse, injected into the vocal fold to force the vocal chords closer together. They said the treatment last longer than fat or other injections and could be permanent. The woman was interviewed three hours after the office injection and had a near normal voice. She was a teacher like many on this bulletin board and her job depended on getting her voice back.I have ABSD that has failed all treatment options and have a "bowed" vocal cord. I am wondering if this might be a treatment option for me. Has anyone heard of anyone having this done? The doctor in the article was from Florida and I live in Illinois and am afraid to fly. I tried the email address of the specialist I saw in Springfield, Il but it came back to me. I am hoping someone in the area knows about this treatment option and performs it within driving distance of me, as I do not wish to fly.
