I have enlarged lymph glands(both sides)w/numerous nodules on the right side of my neck. My Neuro. said lymph nodes are not unusual w/people who have SD.
My Dr. had me go through all the testing(ultrasound, xray, ct scan and biopsy)to make sure no cancer was detected. They all came back normal.....
Curious, to know if any one else has been diagnosed w/any of the above?
Thanks, as always.
Lu

Hi Lu,
I, too have enlarged lymph nodes on the side of my neck and back of neck, consistently enlarged. I have had explanations from doctors of it being caused by my never ending sinus problems to the constant strain of talking with SD. I had surgery this past November to remove 2 vocal cord polyps and a cyst in my Larynx, all benign, thank goodness. But, the ENT that did the surgery felt that they were caused by the constant strain of talking with SD and he referred me to the Dr. in Charleston, SC who is now giving me Botox and hope.

Hi, Lu!
I also have one behind my right jaw. I've had it for seven years now, right about the time my SD was diagnosed. My laryngologist said these tend to become scar tissue in time.

This is very interesting to me as I have an appointment tomorrow with a local ENT. I want to find out the cause of severe pain under my left jaw, deep inside the throat area. If I lean over it feels like something just drops into my throat and the urge to swallow is great. When I do swallow it feels like i'm swallowing part of the tissue in the area. The pain is fierce. It takes a few seconds to rub the pain away. It happened one time during my sleep and brought me quickly out of my slumber.
If I learn anything from him I will post it here.
I appreciate all the information that comes through this chat room.

Latest report from Norma.
I was checked over really good today and the Doc. didn't find anything that would cause the pain under my left jaw. There is a muscle there and he feels that I am having spasms from that muscle. I cannot remember the name of the muscle. (I should have written it down.) He suggested that I let the Doc. that does my Botox injections look me over to confirm his guess or give me another cause for the discomfort. He ruled out Lymph nodes in my case.
I do appreciate the information from this post and will be checking in frequently. Good luck to all, Norma
