Hi Sonya,

At the top of this website, click on the link that says NSDA site. Then click on the physician referral link. The doctors listed are experienced in dealing with Botox, and you can find one that is closest to you.

Good Luck,

Paula

I go to Dr. Michael Gardner at Henry Ford in Detroit and have been very happy with him and the others in his office.

Hello Tammy,

My name is Linda and I am scheduled to see Dr. Gardner in early June 2006. Can you tell me anything more about your experiences with him or the treatments that you have taken? I am being evaluated for Botox injections.

Any help would be appreciated.

AD/SD
Linda

Linda:
I've been seeing Dr. Gardner since August and I'm very pleased. He's very easy to talk to and his staff is wonderful. He and his partner, Dr. Benninger, have Botox clinics the 2nd Weds. of each month. The June clinic should be Dr. Benninger (they rotate every other month and May was Dr. Gardner) There's always a neurologist and a nurse assisting. I'm an AB patient and he scopes me each time to see how much tremor I have before giving the new shot. Both of the neurologists are good that work with him and the nurse that usually assists is Joan - she's very sweet and caring. Dr. Garnder trained at Vanderbilt University in Nashville which is a large center for treating SD. Good luck with your visit - I hope you have success.

Tammy, thank you for the information. I feel a little anxious about my first visit. It helps to know there is someone else in this area who also deals with SD. I feel very isolated at times because no one has ever heard of this. I have my good and bad days. I have a supportive husband and family. Thank God for that! I spent the first week in England with two of my good friends, one is british. I had agreat time! not one person asked me about my voice. It was so liberating. I actually forgot about it. So nice. When I came home people started asking again. I was alittle depreesed last week. I think americans just natuarly ask the obvious! I asked my british friend about it, and she told me your arm could be falling off, and most people would not ask anything about it.
I thought that was funny. Sometimes you have to laugh. I look at all the blesssings I have when I feel down. Thanks again.
Linda. AD SD
