I am six weeks pregnant, and my health insurance starts in two weeks. I was just wondering if anyone knew if it safe to get the injections while I am pregnant.

Thanks,
Kass

There have been several threads about this very subject. I think that the general consesus is that it really isn't a very good idea, although I think that people have been getting them. Someone correct me if I am wrong about this...

Because there are no good studies/evidence out there about botox & pregnancy, most people & doctors will say to be on the safe side & not get the injections while pregnant. I have spoken to 2 different otolaryngologists who say they don't see how it could possibly cause any problems because the amount of botox is SO small, but there are no conclusive studies out there. I am currently trying to get pregnant (my first time) and have been concerned about that, because I can't imagine going that long without the injections. My current doctor said he would at least not give the injection during the first trimester (but again doesn't "feel" it would be harmful). A few years ago, I had heard from someone in NJ who had 3 injections during pregnancy without any ill effects to her child. Hope this helps some. Good Luck.

My ENT said the same thing - no shots in the first trimester (simply because they don't know for sure). But would possibly do it 2nd or 3rd.
