I had an adrenal test and it came back today - diagnosis: adrenal fatigue. This is the first test that has ever found anything abnormal with me. Since my voice problems came on during a time of high stress (as many of you say yours did) and I can speak fine when I am angry or terrified, I believe this is a real possibility as a cause of voice problems. (I was diagnosed with SD-AD).Adrenal fatigue has been linked to stuttering and slurred speech. It has a host of other symptoms.
The test required taking 4 saliva samples at different times of the day.
One of the signs of adrenal fatigue is a highly variable body temperature. A sign of low thyroid is a low body temperature. Mine is both low and highly variable. Low thyroid is a well-known cause of voice problems. So it seems both adrenal fatigue and low thyroid can be a cause of voice problems.
Below are some reference sites. The first shows temperature graphs of low adrenal, low thyroid.
The second is a matrix of symptoms of low adrenal, low thyroid and mixed.

I am curious as to whether anyone else has had an adrenal stress index test. It measures free cortisol rhythm, cortisol burden, DHEA, Total Salivary SIgA and Gliadin Ab, SIgA
