I went to the doctor this week with what I thought was a chest infection. My GP reckons that I am producing an extraordinary amount of mucus from my sinuses. When I sleep this gunge has to go somewhere and runs down the back of my throat and collects on my chest.I wonder if I am producing more than the usual amount, if this is a contributory factor to my poor voice condition. I do have to clear my throat regularly and in the past have thought that this mucus has been produced in the throat area as a reaction to the spasm. If this is in fact being produced from the sinuses then better management of this may reduce the amount of mucus being produced and lessen the problems that already exist in the larynx area.
I have been prescribed Beconase which is an anti-inflamatory application to squirt op each nostril twice a day. It will be interesting to see if this has any effect on improving my voice quality over a period of time.
Any comments welcome
