Hi,everybody! I had surgery Monday to remove a cyst from my nasopharnyx.Everything is fine & it's not cancer or anything. I'm going to a specialist Thurs & may be getting my 1st shot for my ab/sd. I'm curious as to what I can expect. Does it hurt? Is there bleeding? Will I be breathy for awhile? Please write me back & let me know since I'm kind of nervous about it! Thanks! Mitch Rollins Norman,OK ab/sd |

I just had my first shot for AB/SD last week and it wasn't as bad as I anticipated. It felt more awkward than painful. I had no bleeding. My doctor grabbed and moved my adam's apple and injected from the side (after I sniffed). I don't think it took a minute. I know that everyone's experience is a bit different, but I was very nervous and was so relieved when it was over so quickly. This is my first posting to this Bulletin Board, but I have been reading it since being diagnosed with AB/SD a little over a month ago. It's great that we can share our experiences, help each other out, and learn more about SD in this manner. I'll probably have to go for another shot (the other side) in a few weeks. My voice seems a bit better (less breathy), but I still have trouble especially with my H's. Good luck to you Mitch, and anyone else in our shoes. Estelle
