Hello Everyone, It has been a while since I have written in and would like to ask for some help and information.I have found out that I have Muscle Tension Dysphonia which explained my no-voice condition.There is some information about MTD on the web but I have not found others with this condition.I feel out of place here because I read about voice problems and I have no voice at all.I know my treatment plans are different than those with SD and that our conditions are different,only related by the fact that they are both neurological.I would really like to find others who have completely lost their voice so I can see how they have adjusted and what has and has not worked for them. I appreciate all of you who have e-mailed me privately and will still be posting on this board from time to time because some of the things I have found here have helped me to do further research and ask more questions.I have learned so many things here and hope that I can continue to help others along the way. Please let me know if you have any information or contacts or any ideas on how I may be able to find othes with MTD.I will chech back for postings or you can e-mail me privately if you prefer.Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. |

Michael, What area are you in? I'd like to email you names of some knowledgable SLP's (Speech & Language Pathologists), & docs, who are knowledgable about treating MTD, as close to your area as possible! MTD is very treatable!!!!!!!!! :-) Also, look on page 5 of my VCD (Vocal Cord Dysfunction) website, for some info about MTD, and also look on page 9 too (a reference page).
