"...In my experience of attending professional conferences, this symposium surpassed all in the quality of scientific, clinical, lay persons, parents, caregivers, and patients, interactive participation...The attendance and support of the highest quality of international professionals was very impressive...This kind of support and enthusiasm in the scientific, medical, and lay community will foster new treatments and plow the path toward a cure."

-- Richard M. Merson, Ph.D., 1999 Symposium in Victoria, BC

To help increase awareness and education about dystonia, the National Spasmodic Dysphonia Association sponsors various programs throughout the year. This calendar of events is augmented by local area support group meetings and other events of interest to people with dystonia. Symposiums, in particular, offer a valuable combination of both education and fellowship.
